Culled from the 2023 edition of The Year in Pictures 2022: ‘May You Always Live in Interesting Times’ is the acclaimed annual movie produced by the founder of ZUMA Wire Service, Scott Mc Kiernan, who also curated this exhibition of award-winning photography, by ZUMA Press photojournalists from around the world taking us up to March 15, 2023. Mc Kiernan is coming off winning recently at Carnegie Hall, the top photography presentation award from the Oscars of Photography: Lucie Awards, Photography Content Of The Year, Print Or Online to Scott Mc Kiernan and ZUMA Press. The new exhibition will show you why he and ZUMA Press won that prestigious award. Highlighting the “Pictures That Need to be Seen” for the last 365 days. Telling “The Stories That Need To Be Told”, big, small and inspiring over the last 12 months—Good, Bad and Ugly:
The GOOD— Spirit we saw last week at the Oscars is humbleness, diversity and breath, breathtaking talent and human resilience in the Earthquake miracle rescue stories.
TheBAD— Mother Nature’s power unleashed on Turkey and Syria in the Quake of the Century.
TheUGLY— War crimes and crimes against humanity, by Putin and his unprovoked Russian Invasion of Ukraine and how it has translated globally and affecting every corner of the planet, economically and emotionally. The thing  the last two share in common is victims and yet hope on a biblical scale, and the people in all three countries (Ukraine, Syria and Turkey) have Eternal HOPE! Life gives us good, bad and ugly. The last 12 months have also given one much to celebrate!
“Just as the world’s dreaded pandemic begins to wane, come see images that need to be seen, spanning the planet,” invites NeJame. “These are moments in time that will stop you in your tracks and stay with you forever, as the photographers’ unique talent and skills bring you to the heart of the matter at hand, with grace, respect and chilling honesty.”
“A Celebration of LIFE”  captures humanity at its darkest hours and witnesses others rise above and beyond, showing that hope never dies,” adds Mc Kiernan. “Thanks to these courageous photographers on the frontlines of history, we can see and share the good, bad and beautiful of it all at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre Museum. Especially thanks to those who trusted ZUMA Press Photojournalists, to tell their stories! ”
The exhibition will feature top award-winning pictures by photojournalists worldwide, including this year’s WHNPA (The White House News Photographers Association) Still Photographer of the Year: CAROL GUZY. WHNPA, a century-old non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the efforts of Washington’s professional photojournalists. Also, the beauty in nature as only seen by ROBIN LOZNAK, as well as KEVIN SULLIVAN’s stellar portraits and moments from the historical 95th Oscars.
IT HAS BEEN A MINUTE: The expression is a century old. It is another way of saying ‘let’s catch up. ‘
